attention to people who haven’t been paying attention: Watchmen opens this Friday at a theater new Jews, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Druids and Druish princesses. if you haven’t read the graphic novel comic books by now, you have two choices and you must choose one of these or else you will choose poorly like Nazi sympathizers: you can either read the comics ASAP and WARREN SAPP, or, as we told you to do doo months ago, you can WATCH THE WATCHMEN IN MOTION COMIC FORM!

originally released in installments on thIghtunes and Amazon’s not itunes video thing, Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic is now available in full on DVD & Boo Ray. it’s 5ish hours long and it’s 5 hours that you’ll thankfully never get back. some have called this visual aid candy a Cliff Notes version of the book, but it’s not at all Cliffy since very little is omitted, and the kinds of people who say that kinda sense-non are juss bitter bettys that wasted their time in high school reading page after page of Mark Twain and The Odyssey, while the rest of us Cliffed it up like the wind! the only drawback backdraw to be found is the single voice (Tom Stechschulte) doing all of the mouthwork. don’t spank us wrong, the dude’s beyond listenable, but he’s not eggzactly the voice we had in mind when hearing Laurie Jupiter make sweet sweet love in costume. this isn’t a substitute for reading the comic books themselves (the motion comics hactaully works bester if you have already read Watchmen on physical paper), but time’s running out and the last thing you want to do is do as a Nazi sympathizer would do

famed writer Christopher Isherwood (his Berlin Stories was the indirect basis for Cabaret) and his 30 years younger lover Don Bachardy (they met when he was a teen!) lived an eyebrow-raising, openly gay life in southern Cal, at a time when chums of theirs like Montgomery Clift was stuck in the closet and Anthony Perkins was being healed of his same sex feelings. Chris & Don. A Love Story [trailer] is their not as sordid as you’d think tale of their relationship for the ages, told thru smiling interviews with famous friends (many Don would sketch), olde glorious color home movies and tender reflection from the Capote-throated Don. it’s solid doc that’s gay enuff for gays and not too gay for people who aren’t into things that are too gay. gay or no gay, love is love and love is a battlefield, one we’ve all fought upon, so hop on!
